Description
New work going into my exhibition for April. Worked on it last night and this-morning. I didn't plan anything, apart from wanting to try out my new sharpies (permanent marker pens), I just started and continued until it was done.
.
I just realised that I used to have a dream as a child where a dark cloud arrived and stopped on the exact point where i put the flowers (which is where I started creating the piece). The cloud would then noisily rain large lumps of coal on my Dad and I and whomever else was around and we had to dive for shelter. It was always the same stark grey urban landscape with subways etc.
It seems that have transformed that dream into a magically different one by changing the cloud to a bunch of flowers, and adding a brightly coloured scene of sunshine on lake-shore with loads of vegetation, water, and fantastic birds and other creatures - kind of swampy and hot.
Strange mind. I never did figure out why I used to have that dream anyway, and I thought I had forgotten about it. But I love to go with wherever my mind wants to take me in poetry and art, also in singing, and playing the saxophone too.
